CSEL is supported by the GSI 2C and eliminates the need to tell drives to be master and slave via jumpers. Master and slave are decided by the position of the drive on the cable . The CSEL cable that came with the 2C was too short to connect both my drives. The new drive is quiet, and seeing the LED is useful. It’s not hard to re-connect the cable to the slave. When you turn on the computer, does the hard drive spin up… Then the final though is you have a bad hard drive. This is extremely rare, though I have seen it on a few occasions. The only remaining cable to connect is the power cable inside the case. Find a power connector that matches the drive’s connector and press it into place. It will only go into the connector one direction, based on the design of the plug and connector. SSDs (Solid State Drives) are among the fastest drives out there today. On average, SSDs offer a data transfer speed of 1200Mbps and a read/write speed of 550Mbps.
Later in my experiments, I’d just get a freeze-up while booting Windows 95 if channels 3 or 4 were provided by the 2C. The motherboard IDE controller is a “CMD PCIO 640 PCI EIDE controller chip”, or a “CMD PCI-0640 PCI to IDE Controller” according to the Windows 95 Device Manager. Removing its entry from Device Manager didn’t help. The 2C manual states that the 2C’s channels will be automatically detected and configured by running the Add New Hardware Wizard in Windows 95. However, I think the CMD0640 detection process stopped that from happening properly. It seemed to me that by attempting to be ‘smart’ , Windows 95 was doing something that stopped itself from working properly.
Yeah, you can buy pre-built devices the size of a hardcover book, but what fun is that? The reason I’m building one is that I need to automate backups of four systems in my house. I don’t want to have to think about it beyond the initial setup. I’m also tired of burning DVD’s (I’ve probably spent thousands of dollars on blank media). Sure, an occasional backup to DVD is probably warranted, but not every backup. The 16500B apparently misdetects the C/H/S geometry of this drive. After formatting the drive, the 16500B reports free space in excess of the actual capacity of the drive. Most of these old Quantum drives have already failed, so this information is mostly for reference purposes. Older PC’s have a hard drive barrier that they will not exceed. The component can decide where in the name the unique number should appear by including a $ sign in the name. If a check method determines that a connection is not allowed, it should raise a Python exception with a message saying why the connection failed. After instantiation, the o namespace will contain references to the newly created Simics configuration objects instead.
The Loop is pretty simple, as all the ”heavy lifting” is performed by the libraries. We just call the readTemperature and readHumidity methods within a serial print statement, resulting in the temperature and humidity being displayed on the serial monitor. In the setup, the Serial port is opened at 9600bps. Note that we are using the Serial and not SerialUSB function, this also works with the Seeeduino XIAO. In this instance, it is important to set the speed of the Serial Monitor to match. We will be saving ourselves some typing by making use of the sample sketch included with the AM2320 library. The second library is the Adafruit Universal Sensor library. This is a sort of “master” library that contains many common functions and methods for working with a variety of Adafruit sensors. The Adafruit AM2320 library requires this library to function. We are going to be using a library from Adafruit to work with the AM2320. This library also requires a second Adafruit library to function. We then send this to the SerialUSB output, and we will use the serial plotter to display it. Of course, you could also display the output on the serial monitor, but it would just be a series of incrementing values and wouldn’t make much sense. We start by defining the pins we will be using for both the analog output and analog input. If you wish you can move the analog input to another pin, but only pin A0 can be used as an analog output. In this experiment, we will use a feature that is not present on the ATMEGA328P-based Arduino AVR boards, the analog output on pin A0. When the pushbutton has not been pressed the LED on pin 7 will be illuminated. In this case, the output of the pushbutton is HIGH. We also set up the SerialUSB port as we did in the previous sketch, again the “9600” is just really a placeholder to satisfy the Arduino IDE compiler.
